Hasan Rahmani is a UK-based conceptual photographer working with analogue and experimental photographic processes. He is an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society (ARPS), and his practice explores identity, language, and material transformation through photography. Graduating with an MA in Photography from Leeds Arts University, he refined his craft through extensive study in analog and experimental processes. His practice uniquely merges scientific rigor with emotional depth, most notably in his innovative “Liquid Light” technique on metal surfaces like aluminum. This complex process, developed through years of experimentation, transforms ordinary materials into touchable, thought-provoking works that reveal stories of adaptation and cultural diversity. By harnessing the challenges of photography’s materiality, Hasan’s art acts as a bridge to social understanding, connecting viewers with the intricacies of language and identity.
With a remarkable array of accomplishments, Hasan has been shortlisted in prestigious competitions worldwide, including HIPA, the Royal Photographic Society, and the SIENA Awards. His works have also been recognized by scientific societies, a testament to his interdisciplinary approach to visual art. In addition to his exhibitions, he actively collaborates with organizations to foster inclusivity and social awareness, using photography as a tool for community engagement. Hasan’s journey exemplifies dedication to both artistic and social practice, making his work a dynamic force within the global art scene.
