Portrait of Bradford
For me, the Portrait of Bradford project was an exploration of identity and belonging. Bradford is a city with a profound photographic soul, and meeting its people to capture their portraits was a privilege that challenged my creative perspective.
Coming into this project, I wanted to see how the ‘physicality’ of a person’s presence could be translated into a still image. The experience of engaging with strangers, hearing snippets of their lives, and finding that precise moment of connection was incredibly rewarding.
This project has brought us together as a group, merging our diverse styles into a singular, powerful narrative of a resilient and diverse community.
To see these portraits come together is to see the true face of Bradford – unfiltered, proud, and deeply moving. It has been a significant chapter in my journey within the UK’s artistic landscape.
